A visit from St. Cupid

’Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the city,
All the creatures stirred, on their lips a carefree ditty.
The books were stocked in shelves with care,
And shoppers at Borders pranced everywhere.

The patrons at the cafe all snug in their chairs
Drinking their eggnog, not a seat to spare
Jodee with her diary, and Vinay with his tome
had just settled in, sipping on their foam

When out from her eyes there shone such a glitter
He looked up from his world, his heart pitter-patter
Away to her side he flew like a flash
To say a hello, feeling oh-so brash

The moon on the top of the tree on the square
Gave a lustre surreal to the singer on the stair
To the tone of the sax in the cold night air
Their eyes felt the magic that swooshed in with flair

They sprang on the sleigh, to each other made a vow
And away they flew, their hopes ‘n’ dreams in tow
The townsfolk heard them shout, amidst their night convivial
“Happiness to all, live a life jovial!”

Getting to Green Bay

If you are flying in please come a day early. We are planning on a small get-together the previous evening (17th).
The first step is to get to one of the two big cities close by: Chicago, or Milwaukee*.
We recommend one of 3 ways.

  • Planes (Airports: CHI or MKE)
  • Trains (Amtrak Stations: CHI or MKE)
  • Automobiles (That old american way- Roadtrip!)
Chicago-Milwaukee

From Chicago, you have to get to Milwaukee. We recommend the train. It’s a short ride with beautiful scenery. The only downside is getting to the train station from the airport. You can get info on that here.
While you’re waiting for the train, take a moment to enjoy some of Chicago’s good coffee, or their famous deep-dish pizza close to the train station.

Milwaukee-Green Bay

Once you get to Milwaukee, you pretty much have to drive into Green Bay.
There’s a Hertz Car Rental close to the Downtown Milwaukee train station. Or if you get off at Milwaukee Airport train station (MKA) there’s a lot of car rental options.

Once you are in Green Bay, check out our next tab about getting a hotel.

*[While Green Bay does have an airport, it’s poorly serviced and flights are expensive. We don’t recommend it.]
